Friday is here. I can’t say finally because it was only a four-day workweek. It seemed more like a 10-day workweek. The staff at DTG are busy working on webpage designs, computer repairs and handling customer service calls. A typical day at DTG in located in Hartford CT.
Sometimes it seems that everyone is in a rush and needs things NOW. I am no different. DTG works hard on taking care of everyone with all sorts of problems. Computers seem to have a mind of their own. They overheat, catch viruses, and work when they want to. Sound familiar?
The professional staff at DTG are experienced not only in web design, creative thinking and great customer service, but the ability to work with the customer. Being in the business, and speaking off record, programmers and designers can be very temperamental. I have had my fair share of both types of individuals in the many years that I have run this Internet business. A lot of grey hairs.
Webpage designs take a bit of creative thought. You need to get a client down to perspective where you both are on the same page as far as design. At that point, we let our web designers develop “comps” that the client can review. From the comps we can start adding links from the frontpage to the different web pages. Web colors, sizing, navigation are completed at this time. Think of it as a big puzzle.
DTG prides itself in its ability to quickly satisfy the customer’s needs. Big companies just don’t have the time for that. When a job in brought into DTG, you are assigned a project manager that keeps you in tune on the development of your website or custom web application. The DTG HelpDesk provides technical web support to each of its customers. A technician will respond back to you via email or by phone.
Keeping the sites running is another web hosting function provided by DTG. Our servers host hundreds of websites, custom web application and developmental sites. Video and Flash hosting is also provided by our high bandwidth servers.
As you read and try to understand that running an Internet business is not for the faint of heart. Your business needs to follow the current technology and be an active participant in forums and groups on the Internet. DTG believes that blogs provide users an informative and possibly entertaining ideas of how we do things.
Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, to name a few websites all started as a joke, gamble, maybe a business idea. My point is to think of where those websites are now and just how popular they are. Why because someone took a chance on an idea and make it work.
