E-Mail SPAM Filtering

This message is to inform mail users of DTG that currently use SPAM filtering that we now have a new user based SPAM admin area. With a new and improved update to our system, we are allowing each user to delete, deliver, whitelist or mark as SPAM any messages that our filters put into your quarantined email folder. This has no effect on any outgoing mail. Only incoming mail is scanned for viruses. A quarantine folder is a folder that temporarily holds tagged massaegs for your decision.

How it works:

You first quarantined e-mail will result in the establishement of your quarantine folder account.

Example:

You will click on the above "hyperlink".

Next screen looks like this:

This is your quarantine inbox.
By click on each line item you can see the message:
Example, by clicking on the first message you see this:



Click you back button to get to your control panel.



Choices you have:
Deliver the message if you feel it is not spam.
Whitelist which will allow that sender to send you similar content and deliver
Whitelist/Not spam, pushes anything the user sends
Delete deletes message
Classify as Spam marks this email as spam and will not allow in the future
Classify as Not Spam does the mail one by one
Notice you have 2 tabs:
Quarantine Inbox
Preferences
Click on preferences tab:



Here you can manager or add your own list of allowed and blocked address.

Click on Quarantine Settings



The enable quarantine check box is up to you.
Quarantine Notification can be send at the 3 options. We will go over the notifications in another instruction.
Do not change default language

Next click on Spam Settings:


The only control to change is the enable spam filtering.
Bayesian learning will grow as you add spam and not spam. This is how the box gets educated.
Do not use the backup.
Next click on password:


Any time you need a change of password, here is where you do it.

When completed, click on the Log Off button at the top right of your screen.

Next, notification reports.
Depending on what you choose for notifications,


In this example, the notification report will be sent to your email daily , around 3:30.

Here is an example of the report:



This message means that you have several emails that are quarantined and awaiting your assistance. All quarantine mail left for more than 90 days will be deleted. Follow the links.
